How fast can you reach your Ps?
In NSW, learners under 25 need 120 hours of supervised driving - including 20 hours at night - before being able to sit the Ps test.
Read your hours straight off the Roundtrip app, answer two quick questions, and we’ll show you the fastest way to close the gap.
Under-25 learners need 120 hours of supervised driving (incl. 20 at night). The Safer Drivers Course adds 20 log book hours in one go and needs 50 hours logged first; it costs $140, and is free with a Health Care or Pensioner Concession card. How the 120 hours work in NSW
If you're under 25, you need to log 120 hours of supervised driving, including 20 hours after dark, before you can take the driving test for your P1 licence. You record them in the Roundtrip app or in a paper log book - not both.
The 3-for-1 lesson bonus
Every one-hour lesson with a licensed instructor counts as three hours in your log book, up to 10 lessons. Ten lessons give you 30 of your 120 hours.
The NSW Safer Drivers Course: 20 hours in one go
The NSW Safer Drivers Course adds 20 hours to your log book in a single sitting: 3 hours of theory and 2 hours of practical. You need to be under 25 and have logged at least 50 hours to take it. It costs $140, and it's free if you hold a Health Care or Pensioner Concession card.
And if you're over 25, you're in luck - you can sit the P1 test without completing the 120 hours or the log book.
